The Soiree

On Friday, September 16th 2016, FEAT for Children will be hosting Sunset Soirée, an elegant boat cruise and silent auction to support our programs targeting children between six and 12 years old who have been impacted by familial incarceration. Currently, there are over 25 000 children impacted in the Greater Toronto Area.

Despite the devastating cycle of intergenerational crime and the empirical evidence showing the success of early intervention programs, FEAT is the only organization in Ontario providing support to these at-risk children. In particular, our Mentorship Program facilitates access to positive role models and enables children to engage in the sports and arts, receive help with homework and a nutritious meal each week. Moreover, our programs provide children with the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and supportive environment, learn healthy coping strategies and participate in educational excursions. Research has shown that early invention programs, such as our Mentorship Program, Girls’ Empowerment Retreats and Family Visitation Program are efficacious in improving mental health, fostering academic success and reducing the risk of becoming in conflict with the law.

However, it is only through the support of compassionate members of our community that we can offer our supportive programs and optimize the outcomes of these innocent children, break the cycle of intergenerational crime and strengthen our city.

Children who are impacted by familial incarceration are forgotten, isolated and underserved in our country. These innocent children need the support of compassionate Canadians from coast to coast to help in their feat to overcome adversity and embrace a brighter future.

FEAT for Children is helping to make a difference for these at-risk children – one child, one family, and one community at a time. However, our children need you to join us in helping to build brighter futures for some of the most at-risk children in our country.

For those who are unable to attend the Sunset Soiree you can show your support by donating to support our early intervention programs. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to providing support to children impacted by familial imprisonment. With your support, you can help to provide access to vital supportive programming and optimize the psychological, educational and social outcomes of the innocent children left behind.
